As so often happens with me, I start kicking around an idea and it turns into a project. In this case, I was playing an old Supremes tune on the piano. Next thing you know, 11 songs were completed, and a new album set for release 11/25/2021. As the project progressed, a pattern developed. It was all rhythm keyboards and lead guitars. There is not 1 rhythm guitar track on the album. I seem to enjoy playing piano and organ rhythms while letting my guitar and bass tracks define the melody and move the song along. Anyway, it is a diverse selection of some of the great pop songwriters. Holland-Dozier-Holland who wrote and produced many of the Motown hits, Carole King, Lennon & McCartney, Jimmy Webb, Willie Nelson, there is even an Elvis and Carpenter’s song on there. I had a lot of harder edged rock influences growing up, but these types of laid-back pop songs left a lasting impression as well. Shortly after 11/25/2021, the album will also be available for streaming and download on many major music sites: Spotify, itunes, amazon prime music, etc.
